I hope that you had a restful half term enjoying the wonderful weather. It has been a very eventful half term culminating in the government’s five tests being met and therefore giving the go ahead for schools to begin to re-open for key year groups. I am very much aware of many of your concerns about this decision and we are respectful of any decisions that you make with regards to sending your children back to school. Our children are precious and we want to keep them as safe as we possibly can and will continue to work with you to that endeavour. As I stated before in a previous letter to you, Bond Primary School will begin inviting more children to school from the week commencing 8th June starting with Reception and year 1.
We have been in contact with many of you who have confirmed that you will be sending your children to school. As such we making the necessary adaptations to ensure that our pupil groups can be accommodated safely in school. This week our staff are continuing to prepare the site for wider re-opening; putting in place as many protective measures as we can to support the safety and well-being of our children, staff and parents. Alongside this, staff are also planning with great care lessons and activities to be delivered to the children on their return, anticipating that there will be a mixture of responses and emotions. Staff will prepare a short presentation and letter for you to share with your children about returning to school – we hope that this will go some way towards allaying any anxieties as well as develop some excitement about school. However if you do have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office to speak to a member of the senior leadership team
Home learning will continue and packs will be available for collection on Thursday.
Further information about re-opening arrangements will be shared later in the week. In the meantime, please keep safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
Thank you for your continued support and patience during this challenging time
Miss M Bennett
