During their time at Bond, children will have the opportunity to learn how to play the keyboards, recorders, ukuleles, Glockenspiels, African Drumming/ Lati American Drumming and other percussion instruments. Our musicians learn how to be a valuable member of a musical group where they build their social skills and confidence.

How We Teach Music 

KS1 Music Exposure 

From January 2024, KS1 will be part of an exciting new project entitled 'Mini Musicians'; working with Merton Music Foundation to bring music to every child in EYFS & KS1 through group and targeted intervention.

As well as our weekly music lesson in KS2, all years meet once a week for singing assemblies where pupils are taught breathing and singing techniques. 

Throughout the year, students experience a variety of visits, performances and workshops, including visits to the Polka Theatre & Blues & Roots Jazz Concert at the New Wimbledon Theatre which we attend every year.
