It has been a time of great uncertainty and still seems very surreal for many of us. The children had a very relaxed timetable on Friday in order to ensure that their anxieties around the next few weeks, or possibly months, have been reduced.
Our year 6 cohort were particularly anxious as they came to the realisation that Friday could possibly have been their last day at Bond Primary School. We reassured them that we hoped that this will not be the case but clearly cannot rule this out. As such, they were signing shirts– just in case! They were much more upbeat and have been promised a special disco for their year group when they are in year 7. If this is the case, we will be in touch with you all to confirm dates.
Children have been given reassurances that their teachers can still be contacted via Dojo if they have any questions or concerns about their home learning or just need a pep talk from their teacher. This is a significant upheaval for many children and we need to be aware that there will be a mixture of emotions for some. We ask you to restrict your contact with teachers to working hours and accept that you may not get a response immediately but that teachers will reply to all responses in a timely manner.
We will continue to keep you updated via our website and Dojo so please ensure that you check these regularly. School will open as usual for parents/carers who have completed the key worker form. If you think that you might be a keyworker wanting your child to attend school and have not completed a form, please obtain a form from the school office.
In the meantime, look after yourselves and your loved ones. Be sure to follow the advice we have all been given so that we can resume normal activity sooner rather than later.
