I hope that our Bond community are all well and coping under these extreme circumstances. Although we will not see many of you in the coming weeks, we do urge you to keep in touch with your child’s class teacher at least twice weekly so that we know that you are all OK. I have asked teachers to let me know if they notice inactivity from children in their class and I will call parents/carers to follow up to check on how you are doing. It is really important that we all look out for each other.
As you may be aware, the school has remained open for a small number of children. They have had lots of fun engaged in a range of activities including planting sunflowers, diary writing, receiving a visit from a dragon and spotting a penguin using our gym equipment in the playground – cheeky penguin! I would like to express enormous gratitude to staff who have supported school opening this week and to all staff who have been supporting children online. This is very new to us but I am incredibly proud and humbled by the spirit of generosity and compassion I have seen from staff at Bond primary School. Thank you.
There is a wealth of information on our website and we will be continuously adding or updating information and resources as the weeks progress. I ask that you are patient with us. Continue to check your text messages as we may send updates or signpost you to more information and support.
Free School Meals
We are able to provide packed lunches to children who receive free school meals. If you would like to collect a packed lunch, please inform the school office by 9am so that they can be prepared and ready for collections by 11:30. The government will be rolling out a voucher scheme which we hope will be up and running after Easter. We will let you know when this happens.
Home learning Packs
If for any reason your does not have a home learning pack, we have some in our office. Please contact the school to arrange a time to collect.
If you are coming to the school, please ensure that you are practising social distancing. Guidance on social distancing can be found on the link below:
Please do not come to the school unless you have contacted the school office. We are trying to limit the number of visitors to the school in order to protect pupils and staff.
Mindfulness and Well being
We must ensure that we are looking after our physical and mental wellbeing. We all have thoughts, anxieties and fears about the times we are in, however nourishing a positive mind set is key to making sure that we are able to function day to day. We have started each day exercising with Joe Wicks online and this has had such a positive impact on everyone here – not just physically but mentally too. Below are some links with activities that you might useful to use at home. Our children are watching how resilient we are right now so let’s show them that we’ve got this!
Please take care of yourselves and remember that we are here to support you as best as we can.
