Book Week and SHEROES Week

Book Week and SHEROES Week

Having run from the 26th of February to the 9th of March, Bond had many exciting events going on to celebrate Book Week and National Women's Day.

The first week focused on reading and authors who incorporate strong female characters. Some of the events included a special guest reading from author Grant Koper, with his book, The Day Granny's Knickers Flew Away. We also had a Mufti Day, where children came dressed up as their favourite book character. We had some fantastic costumes!

SHEROES Week got off to a great start with our amazing Teaching Assistants dressing up as notable women throughout history. From Emmeline Pankhurst to Coco Chanel, they all told us some history behind these women, followed by some great singing by all. We celebrated National Women's Day by having special guest, MP Siobhain McDonagh come and speak in an assembly.

The two weeks have been informative and educational for all, and also, a lot of fun!
